We are a 3 partner firm of English Solicitors practising on the Isle of
Wight. Most of our work is local but we are happy to carry out work for clients
anywhere in relation to matters of English law. Most areas of law are covered.

John Hounslow
Deals with Crime, Divorce and Family law including Public Law child care cases.
I am on the Law Society's Family and Children’s panels.
The work includes cases involving children who are subject to care
proceedings, adoption and supervision orders. Disputes between parents about
contact (access) and residence (custody) both on their own and in the course of
Divorce proceedings, Parental Responsibility orders are also within his
remit.
He is a member of the Police station and Magistrates Court duty Rota.
Some General litigation, and Drinks Licensing Law matters are also
handled. Additional information
He deals with Divorce matters in general and the financial consequences of
marriage and cohabitation breakdown. If you have really blown it, He can
assist in criminal cases both at the Police station and in court.
We no longer deal with
cases of personal injury as the changes in procedure and costs rules have
caused us to withdraw from that area of practice. We do not do no win no fee
but can put you in touch with those who do locally.

being undertaken by our assistant solicitor Ian Heal
Robin Price
Deals with property and commercial matters including conveyancing, sales
and purchases of businesses and companies , Leases & associated property
transactions. He will also
deal with planning applications and appeals against the decisions of local
Planning Authorities. and can
appear for your at local enquiry on all planning matters, having worked for a local authority for some
seven years and knows both sides of the street.
He is also our Employment law partner
both for employers and employees and is available to deal with the
preparation and presentation of matters before an Industrial Tribunal.
Paul Wilks
Deals with non-contentious matters including property transactions
and run the Probate and Inheritance department. The problems of the older client including care homes
relations with Social Services and wills are his area of expertise as required
as well as assisting in distributing the assets of deceased clients. If you
need an enduring power of attorney hee can deal with that.
Our Consultant

Patrick J Sherwin (MBE)
Our Consultant and former senior Partner of our predecessor firms Sherwins
and Sherwin Son and Raper
sadly passed on in March 2006. He will be missed by a great many people.
HOW TO PAY
Do not be scared to come and see us. We are happy to discuss fees and
availability of Legal Aid as appropriate. You will not be stuck with a big bill
just by calling us or calling in.
LEGAL AID
There
have been a lot of changes in Legal Aid, please ask, it may be available and
this is something which we will be happy to sorted out at an early point in
discussions.
